Goals of the Week!

Another week has come and gone in the NHL as we inch closer to the new year, and that means it’s time for another installment of the Goals of the Week!

This time around, we’ve got a pretty tic-tac-toe play, a last-second game winner, some nifty passing from the twins and a couple of Bruins topping the list. Think you know which goals I’m talking about? Let’s see!

5. Brooks Laich

Checking in at number five this week is Washington Capitals forward Brooks Laich, who starts and finishes some nice passing by his club in a win over the NJ Devils.

4. Martin Erat

The Nashville Predators scored a major come from behind victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets last week, and it all came down to this Martin Erat goal with 8.4 seconds to go in the third period!

3. Alex Burrows

Sometimes Alex Burrows just seems like the luckiest guy in the NHL, doesn’t he? Check out this feed from Daniel Sedin to Burrows, after a nice play by Henrik Sedin to enter the Minnesota zone.

2. Brad Marchand

He was big for Team Canada a few years ago at the World Juniors, and he’s been pretty big for the Boston Bruins lately – if you don’t believe me, check out the goal Brad Marchand scored against the Canadiens last week!

1. Benoit Pouliot

The Boston Bruins absolutely embarrassed the Florida Panthers in an 8-0 blowout last Friday, but I’m not sure who left that game feeling worse – the Panthers, or Panthers defenceman Dmitri Kulikov, who was completely victimized by Boston forward Benoit Pouliot!

What the Puck?

You know things aren’t going your way when you tear your hamstring trying to get onto the ice for a line change. Just ask Martin Havlat!

Poor guy. It doesn’t get much worse than that!
